Relationships form a fundamental part of our lives. Distress can arise from communication breakdowns, unmet needs, or evolving dynamics.
So, regardless of whether you are navigating non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory or open relationships, or working through distress in more traditional partnerships, Lynne is experienced to work with you.
In addition to romantic and sexual relationships, we also focus on the complexities of friendships and family dynamics. These relationships can deeply impact our well-being, and conflicts or misunderstandings within them can be just as distressing.
Family Estrangement
Research indicates that family estrangement affects almost 40% of people in the general population (Conti, 2015). Family estrangement can be a particualr challenge to those living an alternative lifestyle, for example (Grant et al, 2011) cite that people with a trans identity face more significant family rejection at almost 60%.
Lynnes own experience of family estrangement has informed her decision to become a psychotherapist. It enables a relatable place to empathise with both the estranger and estrangee.
